Jasi is not just a 2018 Swan 115—she is the fourth Swan 115 ever built. The Swan 115 came in different configurations, and Odin was the FD (Flush Deck) version specifically optimized for racing. Her first owner wanted a large yacht capable of competing in ORC/maxi racing, so Nautor’s Swan went considerably further than a conventional Swan 115: the boat was substantially lighter than the standard version, at about 76 tonnes versus roughly 100 tonnes, with approximately 25 tonnes of ballast. She has a carbon-fiber sandwich hull, carbon mast, deep/lifting keel, twin rudders and an extremely sophisticated sail-control system.
Her 51-meter Southern Spars carbon mast carries an enormous sail plan—about 740 m² upwind and 1,551 m² downwind. The lifting keel can hydraulically reduce draft from 6.75 m to 4.50 m, while the propulsion system retracts the propeller and shaft to minimize drag while sailing. The boat has been reported at 24 knots during a delivery in 20 knots of wind, with the captain estimating a theoretical top speed of around 35 knots.
