1997 Farr 40

White Knight is a Farr 40 racing yacht and the first hull of the class, designed by renowned naval architect Bruce Farr and built by Carroll Marine in 1997. She was campaigned for many years by Zoltan Katinszky as a Corinthian entry, competing extensively in the highly competitive Farr 40 one-design fleet. Her racing résumé includes the 2011 Farr 40 North American Championship, the 2013 Farr 40 California Cup, and multiple Rolex Farr 40 World Championship campaigns. At the 2014 Rolex Farr 40 World Championship, White Knight finished 16th overall and 3rd among the Corinthian entries, competing against some of the world’s top Farr 40 teams.

The boat continued racing in Southern California for many years, retaining her USA 888 sail number and Katinszky connection. Her participation in major Farr 40 events is a testament to the longevity of the design and to White Knight’s place in the competitive California one-design racing fleet. She was still appearing in Southern California race results as recently as 2024, making her a boat with an unusually long competitive life.
