Rock ‘n Roll has actively participated in various offshore races, notably the Transpacific Yacht Race (Transpac). In the 2021 Transpac, the yacht was crewed by a team that included Sangmeister’s twin sons, Peter and Jack, highlighting the family’s deep-rooted sailing tradition.
The yacht has undergone significant modifications to enhance its performance. These upgrades include the installation of Harken 99 winches from a Mod 70 and Harken 65s from the former world-speed record holder Hydroptere. Additionally, a new, thinner keel and rudder have been fitted to improve hydrodynamics, aiming to make Rock ‘n Roll the lightest sled in its class by approximately 300 pounds.
