This boat has a fantastic history.
Her original owner was Carmen Warschaw, the powerful California Democratic political figure and philanthropist. Warschaw had been standing directly behind Robert F. Kennedy when he was assassinated in Los Angeles in 1968. According to the current Dragon Lady history, the experience led her to demand that her new yacht be essentially a fortress—including protection against gunfire.
She originally wanted about 3,000 miles of range, but told the designers she wanted to be able to escape to Hawaii. The yacht’s fuel capacity was consequently increased to nearly 10,000 gallons, with the current owners claiming approximately 10,000 nautical miles of endurance.
